About the adventure
Tabletop role-playing games have long captivated the imagination of countless adventurers, offering them the opportunity to step into fantastical realms and embark on epic quests. Among the myriad adventures that exist, one stands out as a testament to the spirit of exploration, adventure, and mystery: the Kingmaker Adventure Path for the Pathfinder Second Edition. In this sprawling campaign, players are thrust into the heart of the untamed wilderness, where they must navigate treacherous landscapes, unravel ancient secrets, and forge their own kingdom from scratch. As the title suggests, players are not just mere adventurers in this tale; they are rulers, architects of their own destiny, and the conquerors of a wild frontier. The Kingmaker Adventure Path beckons daring souls seeking something more than the usual dungeon crawl or heroic quest. It taps into the primal desire for exploration, beckoning players to leave the comforts of civilization behind and venture into the unknown. The allure of uncharted territories, hidden wonders, and untold treasures pulls at their hearts, enticing them to become pioneers in a land waiting to be tamed. At the heart of the Kingmaker Adventure Path lies the Stolen Lands, a vast and mysterious region filled with dense forests, towering mountains, winding rivers, and foreboding swamps. This untamed wilderness becomes the canvas upon which players will paint their epic tale. The richly detailed setting provides a sandbox-like environment, allowing players to immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring beauty of nature while also confronting its many dangers—from discovering hidden villages of reclusive fey creatures to stumbling upon ancient shrines guarded by fearsome creatures, every step promises new wonders and unexpected challenges. Unlike many other adventures, Kingmaker not only offers thrilling quests and daunting challenges but also gives you a unique opportunity to establish and rule their own kingdom. As the new rulers of the Stolen Lands, you must make critical decisions that shape the fate of your domain. You’ll manage resources, negotiate alliances, wage war, and fend off threats from both within and beyond their borders. Beyond the wilderness and the establishment of a kingdom lies an underlying air of mystery that permeates Kingmaker. The land itself holds secrets—ancient ruins, forgotten tombs, and hidden artifacts that whisper of long-lost civilizations and untold power. Explorers will delve into these enigmatic locations, piecing together the puzzle of the Stolen Lands’ past and unearthing the truth behind its present state. This Adventure Path offers a dynamic and ever-evolving experience, providing players with a sense of agency and consequences for their actions ensure that no two journeys through the Stolen Lands are the same. The players’ choices and accomplishments shape the narrative, as well as the encounters they face, adding a sense of realism and unpredictability to their adventures.

Gameplay details
This game is fantasy-adventure with a lot of hijinks, mystery, and hair-raising situations. Most of the action would be typical for a movie in the genre with a PG-13 rating, but it can occasionally get a little emotionally intense at times. Please consult the content warnings for this campaign and ensure that none of those topics are red lines for you. On the off chance that a player believes things have gone to far, we use a Yellow Card—Red Card system that any player can utilize if the scene is getting too intense; the use of these cards is done through clicking on an icon on the Foundry VTT screen, it is anonymous which player presented the card, but I will take immediate action when one is presented. A Yellow Card lets us fade-to-black and continue with the story on the other side of the disturbing content; a Red Card stops the game and invokes a 15-minute break. After the break, we can discuss what was going wrong and how we can best fix it for the group.

How will character creation work
Players can either select a pre-generated character at the time they sign-in, or they may build a character using Pathbuilder and the setting guidelines provided during session zero. Players joining after session zero should get with the GM more than 48 hours before the next session to get guidance on creating their character if they do not want to play a per-generated PC.
